Mind Reading is Coming Sooner Than You Think

IBM has unveiled its sixth annual “Next 5 in 5” a list of innovations with the potential to change the way people work, live and play over the next five years.

They’re not talking about listening to other people’s thoughts, they are talking about how your brain could be synced to portable devices. The Next 5 in 5 is based on market and societal trends expected to transform our lives, as well as emerging technologies from IBM’s Labs around the world that can make these innovations possible. 

Here is IBM’s predicted list of technological innovations:

• Use the power you create yourself
• You will never need a password again
• Mind reading will no longer be science fiction
• The digital divide will cease to exist
• Junk mail will become priority mail

My Thoughts:

I am wondering how they’ll produce electricity from pipes and waves. The researchers need to know that finding a new way to produce electricity is not about placing dynamos to everywhere and get electricity. What I want to hear is increasing the efficiency of the solar cells, increasing the efficiency of converting heat energy to electricity power, and finding new ways to get electricity from nano cells.
