Adobe Giving up on Flash?
If you read my Firefox 8 article, then you should know that I am a fan of killing off Flash.
Adobe announced yesterday that they are planning on no longer supporting Flash on mobile devices and will raise prices on Creative Suite. They are going to focus their strategies on HTML 5 and JAVA. They aren’t fully giving up on Flash as they will still continue the support on desktop browsers.
This saddens me a little bit though. I wasn’t always a hater on Flash. I was rooting for them while Apple went all Hittler on Flash and Android. They should have more regard for their consumers, but that hasn’t stopped so many other companies from doing this exact same thing with their hardware and software. At some point, I was rooting for Flash to be on the iPhone and with the passing of Steve Jobs I thought we were finally going to get it. No wonder why RIM is so far behind and collapsing as a company, because they can’t face the facts and move on. I think its time for a new executive team, what do you guys think?
